How to give away free items without confusion

The free items category can help many people: someone gets something useful, and you clear space without throwing it away. But free listings often receive many messages, so they should be written clearly.

Explain what you are giving away and its condition. If the item has a defect, missing part, or needs cleaning, mention it openly. The word "free" should not mean surprises.

Use real photos. A clear photo reduces unnecessary questions and helps people decide quickly. If there are several items, take a group photo and, when needed, separate photos showing condition.

Write the pickup area and time. You do not need to publish the exact address; the area or neighborhood is enough. Then you can agree on details with the chosen person. If the item is heavy, say that the person needs transport or help.

Set simple rules. For example: "first person who confirms a time", "pickup only today", or "no delivery". This avoids misunderstandings and long conversations.

Do not reserve items forever. If someone does not show up, move to the next person. Clear communication makes the process easier for both sides.
